Optics도 최근에 많이 쓰이는 것으로 느껴지는 표현 중의 하나입니다.

 

Naver에는 거의 과학적인 의미인 "광학" 관련된 정의로 소개되고, 제가 소개하고자 하는 의미로는 역시 Google에 소개가 되고 있습니다.

 

Google에 따르면 특히 North America에서 주로 쓰인다고 되어있고,의미와 예문은 아래와 같이 소개하고 있습니다.

 

정의: (typically in a political context) the way in which an event or course of action is perceived by the public.

예문: "the issue itself is secondary to the optics of the Democrats opposing this administration in a high-profile way"

 

"대중에 의해 겉으로 인식되는 모습 또는 모양새" 정도의 의미로 보입니다.
