Death에 워낙 익숙해져있어서 그런 지, 쉽게 눈에 잘 안들어오는 단어였습니다. 발음도 솔직히 감이 잘 안와서 찾아봐야만 했었던 기억이 납니다.

뜻은 "(…의) 부족" 또는 "(…의) 결핍"을 의미합니다. "a scarcity or lack of something." 라고 같은 뜻의 설명이 나옵니다.^^ 

 

이 단어가 명사 뒤에 쓰여서 뭔가가 없다는 말로 쓰이는 경우가 있는데요. 예를 들어 "Paper dearth"라고 하면 "종이가 없다"는 뜻으로 쓰이는데요. of를 써서 "a dearth of paper"라는 형태로도 쓰입니다.
