코로나 바이러스 발생 이후에 가장 많이 나오는 표현 중의 하나겠지요. confirmed case는 확인된 경우 또는 확정된 경우 등의 뜻이겠지만, 확진자의 의미로 이젠 완전히 정착된 것 같습니다.

 

온타리오 주 보건 당국 정의에 아래와 같이 길게 나와있지만, 간단하게는 "test를 하고, lab 확인으로 양성 판정을 받은 사람"으로 보면 될 것 같습니다.

 

A person with laboratory confirmation of COVID-19 infection using a validated assay, consisting of positive nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT; e.g. real-time PCR or nucleic acid sequencing) on at least one specific genome target. Laboratory confirmation is performed at reference laboratories (e.g., The National Microbiology Laboratory or Public Health Ontario Laboratory) or non-reference laboratories (e.g., hospital or community laboratories).
